Italy, France, or, in general, somewhere warm is what many people say when they’re asked where they would want to go. We’ve got a list of awesome bookstores from around the world that may just change your mind on that one.

El Ateneo, Buenos Aires, Argentina In 1919, this bookstore began as a theatre and became a bookstore in 2000. It is home to over 120,000 books! Now, bookshelves are where the seats used to be.

Shakespeare & Company, Paris, France You might have heard of this one! The original Shakespeare and Company was a hangout spot for Ernest Hemingway. During World War II, the bookstore was closed until it reopened in 1951.

Boekhandel Selexyz Dominicanen in Maastricht, Holland Located in a Dominican Church, this bookstore offers gorgeous architecture. The building was neglected for nearly 2 centuries before being turned into a bookstore.

Barter Books, Alnwick, UK This bookstore is also in a repurposed building! Barter Books is located in what used to be a train station. You can find mini trains rolling around the shelves.

Have we changed your mind yet? If so, you might need to brush up on your travel knowledge! Not to worry because we have all sorts of books about wanderlust from learning a new language to getting to know the culture- just stop in our shop! You can find more about bookstores around the world here.
